Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, has built a successful empire over his more than two decades in the music industry.
But the 51-year-old revealed The Weekend Australian on Saturday that he is not pushing his three children to take over the reigns of his music and business empires.
The Brooklyn-born rapper and his singer Beyoncé are doting parents to nine-year-old Blue Ivy, and twins Sir and Rumi, who turn four in June.

He said: &#8216;Feeling loved is the most important thing a child needs, you know? Not &#8220;Here&#8217;s this business that I&#8217;m going to hand over to you, that I&#8217;m creating for you.&#8221;
The Grammy winner explained that their approach has always been to give their kids a &#8216;loving environment&#8217; and support for what they want to achieve and who they want to be.
&#8216;It&#8217;s easy for us, as human beings, to want our children to do certain things, but we have no idea. We&#8217;re just guides,&#8217; JAY-Z added.
