Four Salinas gymnasts are heading to one of the country&#8217;s most famous gymnastics gyms to train with Simone Biles and her former coaches, Laurent and Cecile Landi.
It is all for the intense two-day World Champions Centre Competitive clinic, a training camp requiring high skill and determination.

&#8220;These girls are put under the gun. They are expected to show up, stretch, condition, learn new skills, have no fear,&#8221; Stephanie Bayer, Kidz Corner USA and Imperial Performance owner and head coach, said. &#8220;They also need to be able to get through a workout that is eight hours long without crying, complaining, and giving up.&#8221;
The four girls selected are Alexa Ramirez, Arelie Martinez, Kali Frazure, and Mia Mendoza. They are some of the best of the best at the gym.
&#8220;I’m just looking forward to having fun and learning new skills,&#8221; Arelie said.
&#8220;I’m just grateful that I get to meet Simone Biles and her coaches,&#8221; Kali said.
Plus, these young gymnasts can’t wait to gain advice from the legendary Simone Biles herself.

&#8220;You saw her compete one time in the Olympics, and you get to see her face to face,&#8221; Mia said.
Alexa said she hopes to ask her about, &#8220;Probably like to gain confidence, like ask her how to.&#8221;
This is the second year Imperial Performance will be attending the camp. Last year, only Mia attended. Now, it is four girls.
&#8220;When Mia came back from that, I could just see a huge difference in her confidence,&#8221; Bayer said. &#8220;She was way ahead of the game, and that’s what I want for these other ones that are going to be joining us this year.&#8221;
For Bayer, it is all about continuing their passion for gymnastics.

&#8220;Meeting Simone Biles can just make something click in your brain, and then you&#8217;re off to the Olympics,&#8221; Bayer said. &#8220;So, I really want to give these girls the inspiration.&#8221;
