Cardi B gave a rare remark about her seven-year marriage with her husband Offset after splitting up for a brief period in December 2023.
While gracing the cover of Rolling Stone&#8217;s June issue, the 31-year-old rapper did not hold back as she gave an update on the status of their relationship.
Despite saying she had been single &#8216;for a minute now&#8217; during an Instagram Live in December, the mother-of-two, who has since been seen out on multiple date nights with her spouse, looked back on her first impression on him.
&#8216;When I met Offset, he was super rich and I just got my f***ing first $200,000 in the bank,&#8217; she recalled. &#8216;He never made me feel like I was little to him. He actually always used to tell me, &#8220;You a f***ing superstar, watch.'&#8221;

His support was a breath of fresh air, compared to a previous partner, who she said would make her feel too loud, broke and skinny.
&#8216;Once I cut him off and I stopped caring about what he [thought] about me, I started doing videos on Instagram. That’s how I got famous,&#8217; the WAP hitmaker  remembered.
While discussing the challenges in her marriage, the performer admitted they both had their own shortcomings.
&#8216;We have our own bad stuff,&#8217; she said. &#8216;We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be … not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life. You know what I’m saying? My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship.&#8217;
Still, the performer says she doesn&#8217;t &#8216;want to grow.&#8217;
&#8216;I remember last year when we was going through our hard time. And it’s like, ‘Put your album out. You’re overstressing. When was the last time we went on a vacation?’ And it’s like, ‘I don’t got time to go on a vacation, because this comes first.’ This comes first and then my kids come second. The little things I have to take care of then comes. I sometimes feel like I do probably put my relationship last,&#8217; Cardi stated.
When asked if she had made a decision about her relationship, the Grammy winner explained that she and Offset are &#8216;best friends.&#8217;
&#8216;We think it through, because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends. And it’s like, &#8220;OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.&#8221; It’s not even about &#8220;How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend,&#8221;&#8216; she explained.

As for how she unwinds, Cardi revealed said she likes to spend her time off &#8216;at home.&#8217;
&#8216;When I was off social media and nobody knew what I was doing, I was at peace a lot. But what am I going to do? Never post or never work again because that’s peace?&#8217; she asked. &#8216;No. I don’t ever want my daughter or my son to ever give up on something because they can’t take the pressure of what people say about them. I got to set that example.&#8217;
She added that she still feels the need to &#8216;prove something&#8217; to her kids and haters.

After giving birth just months ahead of the release of her album, Invasion of Privacy, she ended up backing out on her scheduled national tour.
&#8216;My baby was so little — germs and planes and ear popping on a newborn?&#8217; she asked. &#8216;Can you imagine a baby in a f**king tour bus?&#8217;
As for that first year of motherhood, the singer admitted it &#8216;f**ked&#8217; her up.

&#8216;Yo, postpartum is something you can’t even explain,&#8217; she said.
When asked directly if she meant postpartum depression, Cardi said she had &#8216;postpartum everything.&#8217;
&#8216;It becomes depression because it’s a drastic change,&#8217; she said.
Despite the challenges, she said her &#8216;kids are the best decisions&#8217; she&#8217;s &#8216;ever made.&#8217;
Later, in the interview, she tells Rolling Stone that her &#8216;kids come first&#8217; and &#8216;before anything.&#8217;
Cardi raved that her kids enjoying cuddling with her and trips to Target.
At one point, the reporter witnesses a FaceTime call between the pair, before asking if they were &#8216;doing good.&#8217;
&#8216;We’re all right now,&#8217; Cardi replied with a laugh.
