On Thursday, Feb. 20, the Olympic gymnast shared photos of herself and the NFL safety at a daycare that had been started by a staff member who works at the hotel where the couple is staying.
“Obert started this himself from the ground up,” wrote Biles, 27, on her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/stories/simonebiles/3571986886055853026/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(2, 89, 139);">Instagram story</a>. “He just wanted to help the community and the children.”
The gold medalist explained that the daycare serves 87 local children and gives them a safe space to learn and play while their parents are at work. 
The couple has been reveling in their honeymoon, which they were finally able to go on almost two years after their <a href="https://people.com/sports/all-the-photos-from-simone-biles-wedding-to-jonathan-owens/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(2, 89, 139);">April 2023 wedding</a> in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Biles and Owens, 29, first met in 2020 and became <a href="https://people.com/sports/simone-biles-jonathan-owens-engaged/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(2, 89, 139);">engaged two years later</a>.

Romantic photos started popping up on the star’s social media as soon as she and the Chicago Bears safety began their trip from the U.S. to South Africa in mid-February. 

In the trip update on Feb. 20, Biles celebrated the staff and children at the daycare. 
Photos and video from Biles’ Instagram story show the couple handing out nutritional bars to the kids. They also gave out blankets that were knitted by the local senior center, according to her Instagram story. Biles took a moment to tuck in one of the children.
In one of the later images, she shared a photo of herself visiting the “baby room” with Owens.

“They arrive at 6 a.m. and usually leave around 6 p.m,” wrote Biles on her Instagram story, calling the staff members who run the daycare “literal saints.”
“We had such a good time visiting the kids,” she wrote. 
The trip was well earned.

After their 2023 wedding, the couple has been busy with their respective careers. Owens left the Green Bay Packers and signed a <a href="https://people.com/jonathan-owens-signs-with-chicago-bears-8608404" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(2, 89, 139);">two-year free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears</a>. Biles, meanwhile, competed in the Paris Summer Olympics, <a href="https://people.com/simone-biles-wins-four-medals-2024-olympics-8690143" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(2, 89, 139);">taking home four medals</a>.
Last summer, Owens explained that supporting one another is an <a href="https://people.com/jonathan-owens-loves-be-cheerleader-simone-biles-8675133" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(2, 89, 139);">element of their relationship</a> he loves.
&#8220;I love watching [it] from an athlete&#8217;s perspective because that&#8217;s how you&#8217;d be great in any sport, is just being consistent and doing the same thing consistently good every day,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You know what I mean? I love to watch it and I love to be out there and be a cheerleader.&#8221;
