She debuted the music video for her new song Live It Up on Friday.

And when Jennifer Lopez stormed the 2013 Billboard Music Awards stage to perform the song on Sunday night, she took a cue from her own lyrics and did just that.

Wearing billowing red feather sleeves and a high cut red bodysuit that put her famous figure on show  the 43-year-old put on a very sexy performance.

One lucky back-up dancer was assigned the very important responsibility of placing a hand on each side of the pop diva’s derriere to help support her most famous asset.

Once secured in the air, Jennifer put her hands on her hips as the dancers below her gave her a boost.

In addition to the booty-baring bodysuit and bizarre feather sleeves, the star sported a pair of thigh-high leather boots that cut off her legs at the area most women are uncomfortable with – her upper thighs and hips.

A true professional, Jennifer never showed a shred of insecurity as she performed her new song.

Fans reaction to the daring costume was somewhat mixed.

While fans watching the show were vocal in  their admiration of her still stunning figure, others criticised the feather look.

‘Jennifer Lopez or a bird you decide,’ read one tweet, while another compared her to the character of the ‘Big Red Chicken’ on children’s cartoon Dora the Explorer.

The 43-year-old songstress may have been accompanied by Casper, but it was her most famous physical attribute that captured the blue carpet that night.
